>> Zach Osborne has been a force to be reckoned with so far in 2017. He started off his 2017 effort with a podium position and then captured his first career win the very next weekend in Atlanta. Zach carried the red plate along for a couple more trips to the top step of the podium in the passed weeks and was looking for number four
as the day began in Detroit. He qualified strong as always and was looking forward to the racing in the motor city. When the gate dropped for 250 Heat 1, Zach got a decent start and was running around 5th place. He was doing his best to avoid contact in the close racing,
as the riders were very bunched up. Then, a rider in front of him fell victim to the sand, which forced Zach to come to a screeching halt. He waited for the rider to remount and luckily had only lost one or two positions. He slowly made his way back up to 3rd by the last lap as riders kept him honest all the way to the checkers. Zach was ready
to grow his points lead when the gate dropped for the Main as he
got a great jump off the line. He led the bikes most of the way down the straightway until his line crossed paths with another rider on the inside of him. Zach was forced to make a brief right turn maneuver in the left hand corner which turned out to be disastrous for many riders. As Zach hit the dirt, so did his points lead and frustration was pour- ing out. He remounted, but a problem with the front wheel forced him to pull into the pits where they would begin to change the damaged wheel. After losing multiple laps, He would remount in last place. Zack would make his way up to 18th place by the end but unfortunately, his red background will be back to black for next weekend.
