>> Jeremy Smith is doing his best to create a path for himself in the world of Supercross. Jeremy has been a top 30 contender in the Pro Motocross series for the last couple of years but is now ready to turn his success indoors. Never having competed in a Supercross Main Event, Jeremy was determined to get it done when the day began in Detroit.
He found his speed quickly and took to 250 Heat 1 to show his speed. Jeremy got a great jump but was forced outside in the first corner put- ting him in about 9th by the time the riders hit the first whoop section. Amazingly, Jeremy then found another gear as he made his way passed multiple riders on the first lap. As the green flag waved, Jeremy crossed the line in 5th place and was well on his way to his first Main Event. He held onto the position until the third lap where other riders began to reel him in. He was now doing everything he could to keep his focus forward but the riders behind him were not letting up. He was now in 10th place on the outside looking in. With two laps to go, some riders in front of him came together, pushing Jeremy back into qualifying position. An ec- static Smith crossed the line in 8th place, securing a spot in his first ever Supercross Main Event. When the big show began, Jeremy was able to avoid the first turn carnage and was running near the top ten on lap one. He would do his best to hold off the riders behind him, but was forced to give up some positions early on. Jeremy cruised to finish a commendable 19th place in his first ever Main Event in Detroit.
