ARNAUD TONUS
Arnaud Tonus entered the 2016 East coast supercross season looking for redemption after
being sidelined for the latter half of the season just last year. Tonus came out swinging in his U.S. de- but a year ago with the second fastest qualifying time. He caught everyone’s attention but a few crashes in the main event spoiled the night. The very next week he passed out after the main event due to low blood sugar that came to the surprise of him and his team. He met with various doctors and it was ultimately determined that he had Epstein-Barr. That diagnosis would shut him down for the rest of the season. Entering his second and final year on his contract this season, Tonus was ready to get back on top. He came out swinging once again at the first round with some fast qualifying times. Unfortunately in the main event he got out to a bad start and would go down on top of that. It was not the way he would have liked to start the season and now he won’t have a chance to finish the season as he dislocated his shoulder at Detroit. Without a contract lined up for next season, that injury may all but end his stint of racing here in the U.S for now.
