Josh Grant made the jump from the couch to the Factory monster Energy Kawasaki team in just a
matter of weeks. It was quite the change of scenery but it was definitely welcomed by the veteran.
He showed up at daytona with the help of his friends and did better than I think even he expected.
He went out and qualified straight out of the heat race which is surprising enough and then went out and captured a seventh place in the main event. It was a fascinating performance and earned him fill in spot with the Kawasaki team. His career was left in question last season when his team Two Two Motorsports decided to close up shop leaving Grant without a ride. But coincidentally he eventually snagged a fill in ride with Kawasaki then as well to finish the outdoor season. But he still needed a ride for this season and actually got plenty of offers but none that he felt were financially adequate and decided to not race rather than be underpaid. His wait has surely paid off as he finds himself finishing the season with one of the most prestigious teams in the sport and essentially using it as a tryout for other teams.
