Justin starling’s evening would kick off with a grueling battle in the heat – after juggling 10th and 11th position for several laps, a wreck ahead of starling in the final lap would bump him up to eighth, securing him a ticket to the main event.
As the gate drops down into the dirt of the main event, starling fights to avoid getting swept into the chaos of the start. He hangs on to 17th – and moves up to 16th by the third lap. The rutty track made for a level playing field for most of the riders, and starling managed to fight from 17th all the way up to 12th despite the constantly changing conditions of the track.
