Aaron’s day in SoCal started off well, as he was able to post a top ten time early in first practice. It seemed he was using the time on the track to learn some lines and went into the motos confident and ready. Aaron got off to a characteristic bad start when moto one began and he had his work cut out for him. He quickly went to work on the riders in front of him and passed many riders in the
first lap. By the middle of lap two, he found himself sitting in a very impressive 9th place and was working his way forward. Just five minutes into the race, Plessinger had made two more passes and was battling for 6th place with Forkner and Cianciarulo. Aaron was able to make the pass on Cianciarulo and found a home in 6th place for quite a while mid moto. Aaron began to find some speed and reel in RJ Hampshire where he proceeded to eat his roost for a few laps. He was finally able to make the pass and was sitting top 5 with seven minutes left on the clock. Aaron settled in and took a 5th for moto one. In the second moto, he got off to a similar start and was running right behind teammate and first moto winner, Cooper Webb. Plessinger continued to follow his teammates through the pack and was sitting in 6th place at the halfway point. With ten minutes to go, Aaron picked up one more position as the 2nd place rider had a tip over at the top of the first hill. Unfortunately, Forkner got up and reeled in the Yamaha rider to pass him back and Aaron was again sitting in 6th place where he would finish. Aaron would go 5-6 for 5th overall at Glen Helen.
