Phil started his day off great at Glen Helen as he qualified a strong 11th place going into the second session. Phil looked comfortable in practice and went into the motos ready to back up his top ten result from the weekend before. Phil got off to an excellent start in the first moto and was running in- side the top ten early. Phil did all he could to hang on to the position but slipped back to 11th about halfway through the race. He then gained a position back into the top ten later on in the moto as his teammate made a mistake. Phil looked to be undoubtedly backing up his Hangtown performance as he took a strong 10th in the first moto and looked to back it up in the next one. In moto two, Phil got off to a great start and was running 7th place early on. Near the halfway point, Grant made a charge and made the pass on Nicoletti. Grant pulled away a bit but Phil kept laying down laps and seemed to be comfortable in the 8th position. That is until his teammate, Barcia, got by him with only a few laps to go. Phil would finish up a solid weekend with a 10-9 for 8th overall.
