JESSY NELSON
IMAGE/JACKEDWARDS
Jessy Nelson had a very successful amateur career, so great in fact that Honda encouraged Jessy
to skip Loretta’s in 2012 and line up with the big boys at Hangtown. It seemed the decision was a good one as Jessy showed flashes of brilliance all year long in his rookie season. He finally ended
up scoring his first moto win in Indiana late 2014 and has been in contention for the win many times since then. Jessy has always been fast but has struggled to put in a full season up until 2015, where he finished 5th overall in the 250 Motocross Championship. Early this year, he was a favorite for
the Supercross championship with a 2nd place at Anaheim 1, until a practice crash halted his 2016 season. Fortunately now, Jessy is healthy and ready to contend for the 250 Motocross Championship. Last weekend, he pulled two holeshots in the second moto (red flag restart) and was able to lead about 25 minutes of the race. Jessy Nelson will be eager to lead some more laps this season and should be a podium contender at Glen Helen.
