Demorest didn’t know what to expect considering he had never entered a whip contest in his life, and
he was lined up next to guys that are known for being able to get extra sideways on a dirt bike. He didn’t let the cat out of the bag right away, slowly building the crowd up as his whips began to get more and more extravagant. At
one point, his hand slipped off the handlebar during a whip, giving the illusion to the uninformed that he was pulling a lousy no- hander, but in reality he was pushing the limit further and further every time he lined up the jump. By the end of the competition, he was practically backwards in the air, and he had immediately earned the respect of his competitors as well as the judges.
