The crowd was going wild for their unsuspecting hero and it came down to the final three between
himself, Andrew Maroney, and Jesse Pierce. Jesse Pierce had the advantage of actually building the
jump and Maroney was one of the heavy favorites coming into the competition. Demorest upset a lot of big hitters in order to get into the finals and at this point he wasn’t going to be denied the 500$. The first round of the finals brought on an onslaught of sauciness from the competitors, but none more impressive than Demorest’s first whip; he rode past a group of friends near the staging area after resetting to hit the jump again and exclaimed “THAT WAS THE CRAZIEST WHIP I’VE EVER THROWN IN MY LIFE!” Shortly thereafter, Wes Kain presented him with a jumbo sized check for 500$ and the rest is history. Demorest will be able to sleep soundly knowing that he won more than enough to cover his outstanding traffic violations that he accumulated en route to the Brawl. He’s currently working on getting a freestyle ramp and landing in his backyard. If he’s able to put on that sort of show with relatively no practice whatsoever, it’s a scary thought to wonder what he could do when he puts his mind to the challenge.
