Justin Bogle ended his supercross season pretty strong and wanted to carry that right into the
outdoor series opener in Hangtown. He got going in practice with the eleventh quickest time that
may be a hair off of where he’d like to be but still set a good base for him going into the motos.
A fast start is what Bogle needed in the opening moto and he would get just that. He rocketed out of the gate coming around the first turn in third place. He was right where he wanted to be despite being dropped to fourth early by Ken Roczen. Musquin would also get by but Bogle would retaliate and get back around. They would swap a few more times before Musquin would make the move stick. That is where things started to unravel for Bogle. He started taking bad lines and really started to fall off the pace. He would get passed by Barcia and Baggett before free falling all the way back to twelfth place. From there he was able to stop the bleeding and regain his focus. He held the spot all the way to the end of the race despite feeling the pressure from the swede Fredrik Noren.
Bogle could not notch another good start in moto number two and found himself in thirteenth place after lap one. The first ten minutes were hectic in the part of the field as he passed just as many people that passed him leaving him in that thirteenth position. He got passed by Seely in that flurry and decided to latch onto him and see if he could get a ride to the front. That tactic would prove to payoff a little bit as he crept into twelth at the halfway point and snuck one more position on the final lap of the race to finish in eleventh place. Bogle would end up with 12-11 moto scores for twelfth overall. Not a bad start to the season for the Geico rider and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him only move forward from here throughout the season.
