ELI TOMAC

Oh what could have been for Eli Tomac. The now Monster Energy Kawasaki rider was on his way to
what could have been a historic season in 2015. The outdoor national specialist absolutely dominated
the first two and a half rounds of the series. He won in every way you can think of. He grabbed holeshots, started near the front and even came from way behind. No other rider could find away to keep him behind for the entire 30 +2. He won the first five motos in convincing fashion and looked to be riding away with moto win number six before the deep, nasty ruts in Thunder Valley came up to bite him sending him careening into the dirt. The impact was so brutal he ended up injuring both shoulders both requiring surgery. Clearly that ended what could have been a dream season for Tomac. But he would stay resilient and train even harder this offseason to overcome the injury. He is without a doubt one of the hardest workers in the sport and this year in Supercross he showed he still has those outdoor skills when he captured his only win of the season in Daytona and in convincing fashion outlasting Ryan Dungey all the way. Despite all of the success Tomac has had the last year, he could be coming into Hangtown slightly under the radar because of the two-man show of Roczen and Dungey. If anyone is going to spoil that party this year, it is going to be Eli Tomac.
