Starting off his heat race in fourth place, the Factory Husqvarna racer found himself into 5th place
once everybody settled down. Within a few laps Anderson passed RCH Suzuki’s Jake Weimer and MCR’s Vince Friese with authority to get into third place. A three way battle for the lead prompted the #21 to make an aggressive pass on BTO Sports Ktm rider Justin Brayton for second place. Once in second place he stalked Davi Millsaps until his time ran out, finishing in second place.
A slow start in the main event had Jason Anderson way back in eighth place early on in the race. Hanging out mid pack isn’t Anderson’s style. Picking up the pace he passed Chad Reed and Marvin Musquin to better his position to sixth. As the battle between Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac and Factory Honda’s Trey Canard heating up, Jason was able to catch up to both of them. Catching Tomac off guard, Anderson made a quick move into fifth place right behind Canard. Smelling blood the Husqvarna rider made an attack for fourth place, and made it stick. Sensing the podium was out of reach at this stage in the race, he rode out the last few laps to finish the night in fourth place.
