After qualifying second, Dungey had optimal gate position and planned on not facing any adversity in the first heat. But as we all know, plans change, and Dungey was forced to fight his way to the top. Coming from mid-pack to fourth as they passed the mechanic’s area, Dungey slid past Cole Seely to take third as they completed lap one.
