Here’s a small tip from many of the fans out there, directed towards the Cycle Trader rider; get the
start, and let your talent speak for itself. The majority of the time, Nichols has to scrap and claw his way through the field, just to be depleted of his energy as the laps begin to wind-down.
Heat two was no different, as he was ninth in the opening laps but found his flow with two to go. Pivoting his way past Kyle Peters and Cole Martinez, Colt secured his place in the main with a sixth place.
The woes continued as Nichols was in eleventh position across the chalk as they entered the first set of jumps. With patience being a virtue on the opening lap however, Colt found himself in sixth, peeking into the top five as they crested the finish line. By lap three, Colt was reading the Alias nametag of Jimmy Decotis, knocking on fourth’s door. But before he could conquer “the rippa”, the number 38 of Christian Craig found his way around, and dropped Nichols back to sixth; and before long Zach Osborne went past as well, handing him seventh on lap six.
