The top seven seemed to really distance themselves from the rest of the field, freight training with Colt as
the caboose. As the train chugged along, a cart derailed, that of Jordon Smith, moving Nichols up to fifth by lap nine. The stylish flare of the Sooner caught the attention of announcer Jeff Emig, making the pass on Decotis look relatively easy while scrubbing through a rhythm lane on lap ten. With the pass on Jimmy, Colt conquered the fourth position, and would remain there while crossing the finish line.
