After a small layoff from this year’s championship, Canard returned looking to build his confidence and create steady momentum. Tenth in qualifying seeded him into the first heat alongside a plethora of competition.
Trey was slightly delayed as the pin fell, and pinched going into turn one. Having to trade paint with some of the best in the world isn’t an easy task, and it’s definitely apparent when a pre- season contender can only muster a sixth in the heat race. Most importantly, however, Trey lived to ride another day, and was given an opportunity to redeem himself in the semi.
Semi number one saw Canard off to a below average start yet again, but this time vintage Trey appeared. Navigating through the pack, he was almost indistinguishable; blistering amongst
