HAYDEN MELLROSS
Mellross began to show promise on the American amateur circuit in 2011, aboard the Street King Planet Fitness Honda squad, alongside
fellow “Roo” Luke Clout. After a couple of solid finishes at Loretta Lynn’s, Hayden made the hop from his homeland permanent, contesting the 2015 outdoor series and showing some promising results.
With Supercross dreams withheld by injury, Mellross finally got his shot for the 2016
West Coast tour aboard the 51 Fifty Yamaha team. While teammate Zach Bell has shown inconsistency, Mellross has held anchor to the team and delivered results the program has to be pleased with.
Returning to Petco Park, Mellross expects to duplicate his success he had the first time the series took place there. By seeing a glimpse of the race lead, Hayden has shown himself he has the ability to compete with the top-tier of his division. The longer he resides at the front of the pack, the more comfortable he will become, and he hopes to gain experience this weekend.
