Friese makes a pass on Millsaps to take second place in the first lap – he works to reel in Justin Brayton in the second lap. Millsaps makes his way around Friese in the second
lap. Hason Anderson beings to put pressure on Friese in the second lap – Friese works to strategically block him but can’t quite hold him off. In the third lap, Weimer, and Chad Reed also get around Friese. In the third lap, Peick and Tomac sandwich Friese, but a slight mistake on Peick’s part keeps him off Friese’s tail. By the halfway mark, Friese stil hangs on to seventh, where he will stay until the checkered flag flies.
