Wil Hahn spent his heat fighting to catch up to Canard for several laps as he tried to grab eighth place from him. As they near the final three laps, Canard makes his pass on Nicoletti, so Hahn found himself trying to reel in Nicoletti – with the final lap,
Hahn slipped around Nicoletti to secure seventh place, right behind Trey Canard.
In semi number two, Wil Hahn salvaged a good start in the semi and held on to a sixth place, in front of none other than Tommy Hahn. He worked to reel in Schmidt who was one spot ahead of him – in the second lap Wil Hahn made a pass on Schmidt and refocused on catching Friese. By the third lap, Hahn begins to put pressure on Friese; Hahn charges the whoops and nearly passes Friese. As the race rages on, Tommy Hahn and Wil Hahn pass Friese and the group continues to battle, banging bars and swapping places. Tommy Hahn nudges Friese off the track and Wil Hahn blasts ahead of the group into third – settling his trip to the main.
