The Open B heat race was practically a walk in the park for the Bakersfield native as he shot out of the gate to an- other holeshot, utilizing the clear track ahead of him to carefully choose the fastest lines and ride his own race. His comfortability on the bike was on display as he accumulated a gap exceeding nine seconds at the end of the four laps, sliding into the main event with the number one gate pick and a boatload of con- fidence. As the gate dropped on the main event, Robertson found himself tucked in behind the Suzuki of Schwartz on the opening lap as the two of them did their best to pull away from the ensuing pack, but the Kawasaki rider had other ideas. He took over the lead on the second lap and began to eek out an advan- tage little by little over the course of the next four laps, leaving Schwartz to battle it out for the remaining
