He was able to turn some fast laps in practice and found his rhythm on the massive supercross track inside State Farm Stadium, doing his best to find the fastest lines for the first gate drop. Although he’s not the most consistent rider out of the starting gate, Cochran always pushes his hardest until the checkered flag and has developed cunning race craft that assists him in working his way through the pack with relative ease. Things went awry in the 85cc (9-12) heat race as the Georgia native wasn’t able to execute the start that he had planned, wavering back in eleventh place on the opening lap. Nonethe-
