was forced back to third position, but he didn’t back down. The Californian was able to match their pace for the majority of the heat race and finish within two seconds of the lead, giving him a boost of confidence for the main event. The main event was a relatively processional affair for Hawkins as he started exactly where he finished, settling into third place in the early stages of the moto. He maintained the final spot on the podium and lost touch with the two leaders, leaving himself in a mental battle to complete consistent, mistake-free lap times on his way to the checkered flag. Hawkins executed the race wisely and put his Husqvarna in the final spot on the podium, ending the weekend of racing on a high note.
