PARKER MASHBURN
KILPATRICK
After making his debut on the 250 last year at the Baja Brawl and taking the title in the 250 B Limited class, Parker Mashburn is back to collect some more trophies. The young Texan had a solid year of competition in the B class throughout the 2017 season, racking up a plethora of podium finishes across many different amateur nationals. He has gradually built his speed and confidence throughout the season, therefore allowing him to put together a streak of impressive results at Loretta Lynn’s that resulted in two overall podium finishes. Mashburn scored third overall in the ultra competitive Schoolboy 2 class and he finished up second to his Orange Brigade teammate, Derek Drake, in the 250 B Lim- ited class. The teenager’s speed and confidence have recently reached an all-time high, consequently making him one of the front runners at the 2017 Baja Brawl. The first moto in the 250 B class didn’t go as planned as Mashburn made a mistake early in the race and fell outside of the top ten. Despite the crash, he fought his way back to an eighth place finish, salvaging hope of an overall podium. The KTM rider was out
30 for redemption in the Schoolboy 2 moto later in the day, securing a superb start that placed him in a battle for the podium right off the bat. MPG • OCTOBER • 2017
