MATT BISCEGLIA
Being a standout in the amateur scene is the best way to get good support while transitioning to the pro ranks. Matt did exactly that and found himself on Geico Honda which is one of the best 250
teams in America. Although Matt showed some signs of brilliance he wasn’t living up to his potential and by the end of 2015 he was searching for a new ride. It was a long time since we seen a Suzuki 250 team, then out of no where Suzuki fielded two teams for 2016 and Matt was chosen to be a rider for the MAD Racing Yoshimura team. Things where looking good for Bisceglia as he
was ripping the California
test tracks in the off season, unfortunately a practice crash resulted in Matt having to get surgery and was put on the sidelines. Riding in the 250 class worked in Matt’s favour because the series is split
in half and he had plenty of time to heal and rest up for the east coast series. MAD Racing was rewarded their first podium by Matt in Toronto but other than that the #32 seemed to struggle and the two split ways when Matt was offered a huge opportunity
to race for the Yoshimura Factory Suzuki team as a fill in rider. We don’t like to see riders injured but it worked out for Bisceglia because his fill in ride has seemed like a full time ride for the team and he is putting in great results as a 450 rookie.
