>> Last weekend was a struggle for Kyle Cunningham after having some issues in the heat race that caused him to sit out the LCQ and in turn leaving him with no results in the main event. A really rough way to the start the season, but the Blue Buffalo Yamaha rider didn’t let that phase him coming into the second 250 East coast round. The night didn’t start out quite as he hoped, missing a transfer spot into the main by just two positions. He was now faced with the last chance qualifier as his only hope to redeem himself from last weekend. Knowing it was his last chance, the Yamaha rider got a killer start. He was second behind the #50 of Luke Renzland. Holding on tight to 2nd place, Cunningham trans- ferred into the main event. Not getting the best gate pick, Cunningham really needed a strong reaction to put him in the crowd through the first turn. Unfortunately, with some tough competition, that was much easier said than done. Cunningham was back in 15th after the first lap. With more riders in front of him then behind, he had a lot of room to make up and only fifteen minutes to do it. About four laps in he was able to make up several positions into 13th. Maintaining that position for over half the race, Cunningham worked his way into 12th just three laps before the finish. With such little time left in the race, the Yamaha rider worked on locking down that position through to the finish. Making it to the checkers, Kyle Cunningham finished the race off in 12th, a nice step forward from last weekend.
