>> Traders Racing/ Yamaha rider Luke Renzland arrived at Budd’s Creek looking for better results than he had last weekend at Unadilla. With only two rounds remaining, these racers were ready to show what they are truly capable of before the season’s end. Levels of excitement skyrocketed as the gates dropped for the first 250 moto of the day in Maryland. The num- ber 50 machine out of New Jersey was searching for that great start but unfortunately was involved in a first turn pile up of riders, sending back him to the twenty-seventh place position. Luke Renzland did not let any mis- fortune define him as he starting working his way through his competition and by the halfway point of the moto he was in the fourteenth place spot. Renzland was not done yet though, he used the final fifteen minutes to his advantage and was able to gain a couple more positions before the check- ered flag flew. With a twelfth place finish in the first moto of the day, Ren- zland lined up for the second moto as a definite competitor for the top ten. The Maryland sky was clear and perfect temperatures in the 80s enveloped riders and spectators alike creating a sense of calm before the second moto storm that was about to be underway. The gates fell and the revs
of the 40 roaring engines echoed through the Budd’s Creek valley. Luke Renzland was off to an excellent start and found himself in the twelfth place spot early in the moto, he was also able to gain a couple of positions and was sitting in the ninth place spot for a bit. By the halfway point of the race, Renzland fell back into eleventh, where he stayed until the checkered. With a 12-11, Luke Renzland left Maryland with a well-deserved twelfth place overall finish. Hopefully Luke can bring this kind of fire to the final round in Indiana next weekend and finish within the top ten.
