selecting the furthest inside gate position, osborne salvaged a mediocre start and quickly worked into second place behind Pro Circuit’s Joey savatgy. With dozer tread imprinted in the moist Phoenix soil, osborne scanned for the opti-
mum place to make pass on the leader. As they worked there way outside of the venue (similar to events at Sam Boyd Stadium) Zach dove in on the number 37, and shoved him off the track. His luck wouldn’t prevail for long however, in the following series of jumps prior to the 65-foot triple, Osborne deceler- ated rapidly. Screeching to a halt, the Husqvarna lost all life and Osborne was forced restart on the backside of the takeoff. Like many veterans, Zach wasn’t rattled and remained composed, working his way into the fifth position and a ticket to the main event.
