The crowd roaring, mechanics walking away, just man and machine gelled as one behind the starting gate. Hahn looked to capitalize on the momentum he had throughout the night and have a season best finish in the main event. Crossing the white chalk around the first left bend, Hahn found himself on champion Ryan Dungey’s back wheel in 12th position.
Lucky number thirteen, the spot Wil Hahn found himself in as the pack caught first glimpse of the green. The brotherly bond was apparent, as Wil overtook his brother for 12th on lap three. Persistence was key, as Wil didn’t hesitate when opportunity arose and Mike Alessi allowed him to advance to 11th on lap eleven.
By lap thirteen, Wil was developing a flow by mixing his lines and finding alternate routes to seek the competition. The searching
paid off, as he was able to pass Weston Peick for 10th, and stay there until the checkered flew.
