EGAN MASTIN

Egan Mastin began racing in New South Wales, Australia at the ripe age of 7 years old. He won 5 NSW State Championships from 65cc bikes all the way up to 250cc. He won 2 Australian Junior titles on 85s and 250s and also managed to win the U-19 250cc Senior Australian Championship in 2014 before making the move to the
United States to take his riding to the next level. 2014 was a spectacular year for the young Australian, after winning his 250cc Championship, he won 2 more titles at Mini-O’s (Supercross) in the B class and Schoolboy class, therefore proving that he has the technical prowess to master the tricky discipline that eludes most amateurs. He also managed a 3rd place overall in the 250 B Limited class and a 4th place overall in the 450 B Limited class - not too bad for his first couple of races on American soil. He decided to uproot his life in Newcastle and bring his training program to Cairo, GA to put himself to the test at MTF. He had a mixed bag of results to start off the 2015 season,
his best finish coming at Oak Hill where he claimed 4th overall in the 450 B Limited class. As the season progressed, he progressed to the
A class and his results started to improve. Mastin had the best weekend of racing in the United States so far at the Spring Creek Amateur Regional where he finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in College Boy, 250 A, and Open Pro Sport, respectively. He raced 450 A and Open Pro Sport at The Ranch and he came away with a 8th and a 16th overall, but he showed he has the speed to do much more by winning the first Open Pro Sport moto. After proving his speed on a 450 by way of a fairly impressive debut at Loretta’s, he was called up to the professional ranks for the final two rounds of the MXD championship by the Motul Suzuki Team in his home country of Australia. Mastin put together some solid rides and finished 9th overall in his first race in Toowoomba. He made his way back to the US for the new racing season, switching over from MTF to GPF just down the road. 2016 has been a stellar year so far for the Aussie, he snagged a 2nd place overall in 450 Pro Sport at Mini- O’s, a 3rd place overall in the same class at the Daytona RCSX, and he managed to win the overall in College Boy. He hasn’t finished off the podium in any of his Loretta qualifiers so far and he is looking dominant coming into the regional at High Point. Mastin will be looking to carry his momentum into Mt. Morris, get his tickets to The Ranch, and get back to training down in Georgia.
