Jake Impens was practically untouchable in the College Boy class throughout the weekend at High Point. He never finished off the podium; finishing 2nd, 1st, and 2nd throughout the weekend and riding incredibly comfortable in the mucky conditions on Sunday. Any rider that put in consistent results throughout both days has proven that they can ride in completely contrasting conditions. Impens is no exception, the self proclaimed ‘Mud Dolphin’ looked at home in the treacherous conditions on Sunday, but also put in some
great rides in equally challenging conditions on Saturday. He managed to grab a 2nd in his opening Open Pro Sport moto when the track was dry and choppy, and a 3rd the very next day when the track was swamped in every other corner. The elevation changes of High Point made track drainage a challenge in certain sections and the off-camber corners provided plenty of opportunity for mistakes. All in all, it was a solid weekend for Impens, claiming two tickets to The Ranch and he’ll be looking to break onto the podium for the first time ever this year at Loretta’s.
