JO SHIMODA
With arguably one of the coolest names in the pits, Jo Shimoda brings a game face and aggressiveness to the table that reiterates the vibe his slick title portrays.
Unlike your average Jo, Shimoda absolutely hates mediocre results, making sure to leave one hundred and ten percent at every event he chooses to attend; with Mammoth Mountain being no different.
With the early morning dew settling in on the pristine Mammoth mountaintops, a backdrop of peace and calmness was shed across the delightful scenery. And with that came a slow arising of competitors, awakening from their trailers and hotels, leisurely preparing for the battles that were yet to come.
No need for a cup of Jo to awaken, the KTM pilot was in full-on, war-ready attire when his name was announced for the Supermini divisions.
As the doghouse anchor dropped to the ground for the first Supermini 2 moto, Shimoda found himself wading just above water amongst a sea of screaming 85’s. 14th on lap one, he rallied hard through the
remaining laps and obtained the fourth position before its conclusion.
