PARKER MASHBURN
Following a pair of consistent podium finishes at the Loretta Lynn MX Amateur National Championship in 2017, Parker Mashburn is aiming to take the next step forward and reach the top of the podium in Hurricane Mills for
the first time in his career. The Texan scored second place overall at the Ranch for the second time in his career, combining for a total of seven top five finishes and three overall po- diums. The Orange Brigade rider immediately began to build off of his positive results at the Ranch last year, transitioning them into a pair of number one plates on the motocross track at the Thor Winter Olympics. Mashburn went on to find the podium at Spring A Ding Ding
as well as the top step of the box at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship, winning both 450 B and 450 B Limited. He encountered a slight scare only a couple of weeks before the Loretta Lynn’s Regional Qualifier at 3 Palms Action Sports Park, suffering a break to the collarbone that required surgery. Fortunately, he got it taken care of as soon as possible and he pushed through the pain, qualifying in both 250 B and 450 B classes with an impressive collection of top finishes. The Team Dunlop Elite alum has made the move to Millsaps Training Facility in preparation for racing at the Ranch this year and he’s got the top step of the podium in his sights.
HANNAH
HODGES
Four Loretta Lynn Amateur National Championships would be a satisfactory trophy haul for any motorcycle racer, but Hannah Hodges is still yearn-
ing for more. The Monster Energy | Team Green Kawasaki rider tasted champagne as recently as last year
in Hurricane Mills, battling against Jazzmyn Canfield and Jordan Jarvis
in the Women (12+) class to come
out on top with the title in addition to a second place in the WMX division. The Floridian followed things up at Loretta’s with a couple of number one plates
at the Thor Winter Olympics, sending her into the 2018 racing season in a positive manner. Hodges ended up second overall in the WMX class at the Daytona RCSX and would have been on the podium at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship as well, if not for a couple instances of misfortune on the race track. The rider out of Mill- saps Training Facility has the resume to make an impression at the Ranch this year and it would be foolish to bet against her leaving Hurricane Mills without her fifth Loretta Lynn Amateur National Championship.
