>> Chase Marquier made four 250 main events last year, looking to improve that in the 2017 season the Honda rider from Oklahoma worked hard in his off season. The young privateer was just shy of qualifying out of his heat race with a twelfth place finish. Not wanting to miss the main event
at the season opener, Marquier pulled it all together in the LCQ finishing in a well deserved second place. Rolling into the gate he did have many options, starting near the outside of the gate he reacted quickly pushing his way into sixteenth out of the gate. Near the back but still close to the top ten, the Honda rider gained a position each lap moving his way up to twelfth. Looking comfortable on his Honda he rode out the rest of the race in the same position.
