He seemed to have a little bit of a disadvantage getting the drive out of turn eleven on a consistent basis and it cost him as he left the inside open at turn twelve. Hayden stuck to the back of Elias for the entirety of the race as the two of them began to inch away from Bobby Fong in third place, setting the stage for a grandstand finish. On the final lap, Hayden drafted his teammate down the back straight and lunged up the inside heading into the final complex of the track, but he wasn’t able to get his Yoshimura Suzuki stopped and Elias cut back underneath him, forcing him to settle for second position. In the second race, the #95 machine put himself out front with another holeshot from pole position, but the lead didn’t last long as Elias came barrelling up the inside of him at the end of the back straightaway. >>
