It was a carbon copy of the first race except the Yamaha R1 of Cameron Beaubier joined the party, making it a three-way battle for the lead all the way until the checkered flag. Hayden attempted to stuff his Suzuki up the inside of his teammate in the final stages of the race, but Elias was able to strike right back. It opened up the opportunity for Beaubier to attempt the same move on Hayden and he was able to make it stick, relegating the rider out of Kentucky back to third place where he would ultimately finish.
