Wyman’s weekend got off to a picture perfect start as he found himself on the pace from the very first session at Circuit of the Americas. The twenty-seven year old practically matched the speed of factory supported Yamaha rider, Josh Hayes, in Superpole, qualifying in sixth position a couple of hundredths of a second behind the forty-two year old vet. The first race didn’t go as planned for Wyman after he secured a tremendous start that put him in the battle for the top five -- the New Yorker made a mistake in the early stages of the race exiting turn ten and tucked the front end as he crested the hill towards turn eleven, sending him hurling into the guardrail off the side of the track. Although he was a little banged up from the incident, Wyman lined up for the second race and charged through the pain to a ninth place finish after an intensely close battle with Danny Eslick and Jake Lewis that lasted practically the entire race.
