MOTUL SUPERBIKE
He’s a reminder of the true essence of motorcycling and why most of these competitors flung their leg over a bike in the first place. Orange competed in the MotoAmerica Superbike class last year aboard
a BMW S1000RR and he returns to the class in 2017 aboard the same manufacturer with the Maximum Effort Racing team.
The rider out of Half Moon Bay, California qualified in nineteenth position as a result of Friday’s sessions aboard his BMW machine, one of only two S1000RRs that ended up filling out the grid.
The lights went out on the first race and Orange remained steady in his qualifying position as he
did his best to keep the TOBC Racing Yamaha of Anthony Kosinski in his sights, but unfortunate circumstances just past the halfway point of the race forced him to retire back to the pits. He turned things around on Sunday evening for the final race of the weekend at Circuit of the Americas as he brought his Maximum Effort Racing BMW across the finish line in nineteenth position as the checkered flag was flown.
