Lewis impressed throughout the first couple of sessions as he was
able to keep his M4 ECSTAR Suzuki within the top ten every time
his tires touched the pavement. The Kentuckian earned his spot in Superpole and ended up qualifying in ninth place on the grid as the fourth fastest Superstock rider. The youngster out of the midwest sped into the first corner in approximately tenth position as the pack settled into the flow of the race. Shortly thereafter, he was able to take advantage of some mistakes towards the front of the field, moving him a couple of positions further up the order. Lewis tagged onto the rear of Josh Herrin’s R1 as he circulated in seventh position overall, eventually making a move on the #2 machine at the midway point of the race. The Suzuki rider did his best to track down the CBR 1000RR of Jake Gagne in fifth place overall, but
there was a multi-second gap that he wasn’t able to overcome,
and he eventually brought his M4 ECSTAR Suzuki home for a third place finish in the Superstock 1000 class. Unfortunately, Lewis suffered a gnarly crash in the warm up session on Sunday that left him with an injured foot, but he remained undeterred and lined up on the grid for the second race anyways. The twenty-one year old got off to a decent start when the lights went out and he immedi- ately found himself in a fierce battle for the Superstock podium with Danny Eslick that lasted for the majority of the race. They were joined by Superbike competitor, Kyle Wyman, and the three of them duked it out all the way to the checkered flag where Lewis ended up finishing fourth in the Superstock class.
