DANNYeslick
He was struggling with front end chatter throughout the first couple of days that made the bike virtually unrideable, but the team put in long hours and made steady improvements throughout the weekend. In the first race, he battled back from an unlikely fifteenth posi- tion on the grid and was able to place himself within the top ten throughout the early stages of the race. Eslick was involved in a battle with the Suzuki of Hayden Gillim for the major-
ity of the fifteen laps and he was able to get the better of his fellow midwesterner at the checkered flag, earning fourth overall in the class. Eslick was feeling much more confident on his R1 heading into the second race and
it was glaringly apparent in his race pace and result. He made some quick moves in the opening laps of the race and placed himself inside the top ten. The Oklahoma native was involved in one of the most closely contested battles on the track as he fought tooth and nail with the Superbike of Kyle Wyman and fellow Superstock competitor, Jake Lewis. He duked it out with the Suzuki of Lewis for the final
spot on the Superstock podium, grabbing the advantage at the finish line by a whisker as he secured third position in the class.
Eslick was playing catch up throughout the
first couple of sessions after a less than ideal
couple of days at the pre-season Dunlop tire test, but he managed to tap into his underly-
ing racing instinct once the lights went out.
