MATHEWscholtz
The South African was able to take advantage of
some mistakes by a couple of the Superbike riders
that promoted him to fourth position overall.
The Yamaha rider got stuck in behind the Superstock
class leader, Bobby Fong, and the two of them were able to pull away from the rest of the pack. Scholtz rode an intelligent race as tire wear began to come into play, backing it down as he eventually crossed the line about ten seconds behind Fong, subsequently clinching second place in the Superstock class. In
the second race, the South African struggled with his start yet again, but he managed to make some moves on Kyle Wyman and Josh Hayes in the opening laps. Scholtz experienced some issues with front end feel in the middle of the race, so he was forced to back it down a little bit, but he comfortably finished in second in the Superstock classification yet again -- an incred- ibly successful weekend for his first time at the circuit.
