DAYTONA ANDERSON
heading into the 2017 season with the support of the Rickdiculous Racing team.
Anderson immediately impressed as the 2017 season got underway as he was one of four riders that was able to turn lap times in the 2:14 range in the first practice. The Rickdiculous Racing Yamaha rider continued to build his confidence with each passing session as he maintained his exceptional speed throughout qualifying on his way to fourth place on the grid. He wasn’t able to get the best start when the lights went out and he ascended into the first corner in the middle of the pack. Anderson utilized his race craft throughout the first couple of
corners to work his way up to the edge of the top five, but it was all for naught as the red flag came out on the first flying lap. The twenty year old Californian found himself in the same circumstances in the second time of trying as he prepared himself for the eight lap sprint to the finish line. Anderson tucked in behind the M4 medAge Suzuki of Nick McFadden for the first half of the race, but he was able to make the move on the Kentuckian with only a couple of laps to go. Although the Californian was able to match the personal best lap time of Benny Solis Jr. in fourth position, he let the Honda rider get away in the early stages of the eight lap affair and was forced to settle for fifth position in the first race of the season.
