as Shane Mcelrath was prepping for the new season back in november, he
crashed and sustained a wrist injury and a lacerated liver leaving him out of
practice for six weeks leading into the 2016 Monster energy Supercross season.
Not even a month before the first East coast race McElrath wasn’t even looking to race after being in a
cast for 10 weeks. No rider ever wants to injure themselves let alone a month before the new season even begins. Luckily for him Troy Lee Designs Red Bull KTM became the official 250 KTM team so he had the option to race the East coast. With only a few chances to practice before the first race in Atlanta McElrath came in swinging getting a second place in his heat race and grabbing the main event holeshot but a couple crashes kept him from the front. McElrath has the speed that he displayed last year it’s just keeping the bike up and not making the small mistakes.
