He saw a line of Yamahas coming up behind him spearheaded by the very fast Alex Martin so he knew time was of the essence. He made an aggressive move on Martin for second and immediately kept his
charge going passing Cianciarulo shortly after. He settled into the lead and when it looked like he was going to get off easy, Alex Martin and Plessinger came knocking at his door late in the moto. Savatgy stayed vigilant and weathered each storm the two Star Racing Yamaha teams threw at him and would emerge victorious. His 4-1 scores on the day would be enough to capture his third overall in four races and he padded his points lead in the process.
