Just when you’d expect for things to heat up, the clouds stalked the surrounding hills of Las
Vegas to create a very rare mud fest at the final round of the season. With rain taking place for the majority of the day, the slop became real as the gate dropped on the second heat race of the night to see Malcolm out front early. Leading wire-to-wire with the fastest time in the heat by 2 seconds, Stewart won in dominant fashion setting the stage for the night of his life. As the darkness wore on, the rain continuing to drizzle, Stewart had only twelve laps standing between him and the record books that his older brother has helped fill.
