MALCOLM STEWART
After eight long rounds of back and forth battles between the boys on the east side, Stewart is ready to shuffle up and deal in the heat of Las Vegas. Through eight rounds, the smile has been maintained, the positivity has remained relentless and the consistency continues to be a premium for the young Stewart who has been doubted, in the past, at the thought of ever
becoming a championship contender. In 2016, after three years of nothing better than 6th in the point standings, five podiums and a series worst of 8th place have brought the #50 Honda to the front lines of 250 title potential. Enter the final race, round nine of the 250 season for both coasts and Malcolm has the upper hand. Stewart is coming off his 2nd win last weekend in New Jersey and would need to finish 9th or better if, by chance, Aaron Plessinger was able to grab the win. Riding westward on the waves of momentum, 9th wouldn’t seem to be too hard of an accomplishment for Malcolm but with the west coast now taking a seat at the same table, the stakes have officially been raised. The cards were in the air and Stewart, if he could prolong this seasons stability, had the opportunity at a #1 plate for the first time in his career.
