The final main event of the season got kicked off by Dungey grabbing yet another holeshot. Many
thought he would runaway with the win like he has done so many times this year but Roczen bonzai’d
into second place in the early laps. Dungey had a small gap but Roczen closed it up and we had a race on our hands. These two have absolutely duked it out for the last month and fans at Vegas were treated to one more battle. However the battle they had would be cut short. Roczen made a great move through the tricky dragonback section to take the lead but just a few sections later, Roczen would come up short in a rhythm and go down collecting Dungey with him! It seemed like the first time we have seen either of them on the ground this season but Dungey remounted quicker and regained the lead. From there Dungey maintained a healthy gap despite get- ting a little bit of pressure once again from Jason Anderson but it wouldn’t be enough. The Dunge would capture his ninth victory of the year. The most wins he has ever totaled in a single season. There could not have been a better way to cap off a dominating season for the champ, Ryan Dungey.
