What many may know but fail to realize is that the kid from Germany has been the most consistent rider over the last half of the season, even more so than Ryan Dungey. Despite his second-half
successes, Roczen has continued to lack the chips needed in order to take the table leader down. Having held onto numerous winning hands, Roczen’s recent series finishes have been impressive as he’s won the last two rounds and hasn’t finished outside of the top two since round eleven in Detroit. With the series title already wrapped up and awarded to Dungey, though, it became unclear how hard Ken would push has he has an entire season of outdoor nationals to worry about, hoping to finally overcome his weak spot in the #1 plated KTM. In Vegas, Roczen was dressed as Iron Man, and Dungey as Captain America, in celebration of the recent movie premier of Marvel’s Civil War. Interestingly enough, Las Vegas marked the final night of the war of Supercross for Roczen and Dungey with both hoping for bragging rights before the action heads for daytime coverage in two weeks at Hangtown.
