Sitting in second on the leaderboard prior to the start of 450 heat two, Anderson was runner-up
to his Baker’s Factory counterpart following a treacherous lap one. Sandwiched between the presence of two, heavy, single digit former champions (Dungey and Tomac), Anderson remained headstrong throughout the majority of the sprint. When the checkers flew, he would check off this
specific box from his task sheet, completing what needed to be done; he would finish second. The muddy conditions weren’t ideal for the rambunctious style of the New Mexico lobo, as the each rut and sloppy section provided a unique challenge on each lap. With corners and rhythm sections appearing to be littered with land mines, Anderson danced his way around with acute precision, avoiding an explosion of both his mentality and machine. Following a crash of the leaders, Ken Roczen and Ryan Dungey, Anderson moved into second place, just behind his training partner of the number five machine. Lurking within a five second margin for the majority of the event, Anderson sat comfortably, with an exceptional lead over third place. He would finish here, taking a wave of momentum into the outdoor season, pleased at the season he endured.
