MacDaddy was all systems go for the beginning of the second heat, as the tread of the number 30 gripped the Las Vegas earth for all she had, rocketing to a second place start, edged by Dakota Alix. With Malcolm Stewart quickly inheriting the lead, Shane found his away around the Vermont native, and yearned to latch on to the number 50 Geico ride. The laser like focus was apparent yet again, as he would watch the East leader’s every move,
following the Floridian to the finish line in second. With anticipation mounting, McElrath wanted to finish off the season with both fans and industry remembering his final performance. His aggression was released off of the treacherous start stretch, but unfortunately, he wanted the holeshot a little too much. The rampant sprint would cause a washout, claiming a few other competitors victim as well. With both bike and gear near mangled, the TLD rider would leave it all on the Vegas soil, remounting, and finishing a disheartening 17th.
